Do you think there should be a “Make-a-Wish” for healthy children?

Believe it or not, this was a question posted recently!! For the record, I think definitely not!!
M C, you have an EXCELLENT point!! However, they have charities already set up for the dying children in Africa.

maybe if they are poor. i love children so i would give them the world.

  • mandy3214 said:

    no, that would be selfish

  • fred flintstone said:

    no

There is no way anyone could ever afford to fund something like this, and honestly, they have their whole lives ahead of them to live their dreams. So no, I do not.

  • smedrik said:

Hell no, healthy kids have a lifetime to realize their dreams. Make a wish is for those children who will not unfortunately have that opportunity.

  • alimagmel said:

I also don’t see the need. They still have their whole lives to live their dreams. Terminally ill children don’t.

  • bri said:

no unless theyre poor and i mean really poor

  • cretinboi said:

if people want to donate to it, sure. who cares?

  • sillyme09 said:

NO. KIDS ARE SPOILED ROTTEN NOWADAYS. THEY ALL ARE ADDICTED TO THEIR LITTLE WEE-WEE VIDEO GAMES.

  • Carrie S said:

    Maybe for underpriveledged children.

  • neeniechick said:

Well, the Make-a-Wish Foundation is for children who won’t have the opportunity to make their own dreams come true, so they need some help. Healthy children will, ideally, have the opportunity to realize their dreams. Nevertheless, I am always in support of groups that encourage children to reach for the stars—so maybe a different organization, but one with a similar goal.

most local churches have them around the holidays. They get donations for less fortunate families and provide them with food, and presents. It’s really a great idea. They are called different things, but they help a lot

  • Joe K said:

Sure there should be. Getting funding may be a bit harder being that corporations and private donors are more compelled by dying children than healthy children.

Hell, I don’t think there should be make a wish for sick children. They give wishes to rich white American kids. How about these people go to a 3rd world country and see what they wish for there.

Good ol’ white american kimmy wants to go to disneyland.

And for the same price you can feed an entire village of starving children for months. Guess what their wish is? To eat dinner.

  • Stacy S said:

No it’s for the sick and dying childern

  • kris.ten28 said:

no, maybe for underprivileged and poor children but for regular children. sorry no not at all

  • T-La said:

No. Even if healthy children are poverty stricken, I thing they have a better chance than those who have life threatening illnesses.

  • H3r3 2 @n5w3r said:

i think it should be a make a wish foundation for healty chrildren to because healthy chrildren still have problems too.

  • Hayden said:

Its called the giving tree at Christmas. Of course there should. Those who need help deserve nice things too.

  • skboo said:

Of course! All kids have wishes and dreams….why not fulfill theirs too?

  • reedus_kelley said:

i dont see a problem with it if someone wants to create a program like that, so long as it doesnt interfere or take away from the children who are ill.

  • April said:

I think that if they don’t have any money then yes but otherwise NO!!!!

  • Monte T said:

then why did you ask it again? no there shouldn’t be!

  • CHos3n said:

That’s what parents/ grandparents are for! Our healthy kids will be with us, God willing, for many long days and nights and we have the opportunity to make their wishes come true. That’s just not possible for the many seriously ill children and their families that Make-a-Wish reaches out to.

For the record, my guess is the question came from some child who saw the wishes (Disneyland, etc) and can’t see the pain and longs for the gift, but has no idea of the tragedy.

  • Rhyannonn C said:

No, the Make A Wish Foundation doesn’t even go threw for kids who are dieing there’s no use getting EVERY childs hopes up.

My friends daughter who was 4 was dieing of a tumor on her brain stem and the Make A Wish foundation FINALLY showed up 2 weeks after she’d died a year after they were suppose to, to build a wheelchair ramp.

After that bs I refuse to even think about helping them!!! That’s just ridiculous and disgusting! WTF are they doing with the money I’d like to know!?

  • Kikisam said:

yeah. You can and will die at any time. Just because you know, or predict in advance doent make much of a difference. Well that’d be nice, but no way is it possible. I mean, the time, funds, it’d be hard.

  • elaeblue said:

No I think the whole premise was that these children may never, ever be able to do these things! They might die. Healthy children have their whole life to do fun things. I would and do contribute to programs that give poor kids a chance to do the fun things the better off kids get to do.

  • trinity20kau said:

    I vote no.

  • some_yank said:

Yes there should be Make-a wish for healthy children.. Their role in this is not as the recipient, but as a participant in making the wish of a sick child come true. They should be involved in helping their piers who are ill. If you can do a fundraiser for a sports function, then you can have fundraisers to support worthwhile things like this also. Such activites teach compassion, teamwork and charity.

  • ServantofGod said:

    No

  • ANJANETTE C said:

I think there should be a Make a Wish for all children. Children are a gift from GOD. They are a blessing and they are our future. So why not help all children.
What about those healthy kids who suddenly die of say a heart attack. All children are GOD’s children and they all deserve the equal amount of attention.

  • Stacel said:

I disgree….Just getting you back for the Tom Lykis question :) ha ha ha !!!!!! But seriously, I think that ALL children should be able to experiance their wishes no matter what:) I find it somewhat unfair to ALL children;) Their are children that their parents are very poor and will never be able to go to Disneyland or other things that all the other kids are doing:)
